What is VPS hosting and how does it differ from shared hosting?
A VPS (Virtual Private Server) gives you dedicated CPU, RAM, and storage that are exclusively yours — unlike shared hosting where resources are split between many users. Your server runs in complete isolation with guaranteed resources and full root access.
What virtualization technology do you use?
We use enterprise-grade hypervisor technology providing near-native performance and full hardware isolation between VPS instances. Each VM gets dedicated CPU cores, not shared time-slices.
Where are your VPS servers located?
All VPS servers are hosted in Hetzner’s Falkenstein datacenter in Germany, EU. This ensures full GDPR compliance, EU data residency, and excellent latency across Europe. The datacenter runs on 100% renewable hydropower.
What operating system is installed on the VPS?
Every VPS comes pre-installed with Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, the latest long-term support release. You get full root SSH access, so you can install any software, configure firewalls, run Docker containers, or set up any stack you need.
Is your VPS hosting GDPR compliant?
Yes. All data is stored in Germany within the EU. Our infrastructure uses Hetzner’s EMAS-certified, ISO 27001-compliant datacenters. This makes our VPS suitable for hosting applications that handle European personal data.
What happens if my VPS subscription expires?
Your VPS is stopped. Data is kept for 3 days so you can renew. After 3 days everything is permanently deleted.
Are backups included with the VPS?
No. You are responsible for your own backups. We recommend rsync, restic, or BorgBackup to an off-site destination.
Can I upgrade my VPS to a larger plan?
Yes. Contact support and we arrange an upgrade to a larger VPS tier with minimal downtime. Your data and configuration are preserved during the migration.
What kind of storage do your VPS servers use?
All VPS plans use NVMe U.2 datacenter-grade SSDs — the same drives used in enterprise servers. NVMe provides significantly faster read/write speeds and lower latency compared to SATA SSDs or traditional hard drives.
Is there a traffic limit on the VPS?
