Terms of Sale
Last updated: April 23, 20261. Overview
These Terms of Sale govern your purchase and use of software products, licenses, and subscription services sold through beltoft.net (“we”, “us”, or “beltoft.net”). By completing a purchase, you agree to these terms.
beltoft.net is operated from Aarhus, Denmark. All prices, invoicing, and transactions are handled in accordance with Danish and EU regulations.
Our services are not intended for individuals under the age of 16. By creating an account or completing a purchase, you confirm that you are at least 16 years old.
2. Products and Licenses
We sell digital products including WordPress plugins distributed as downloadable ZIP files. Each purchase grants you a license to use the software on the number of sites specified by your chosen plan (e.g., 1 site or 3 sites).
License keys are generated at the time of purchase and can be managed from your account dashboard. Licenses are tied to specific domains and can be activated and deactivated as needed, up to the maximum number of activations allowed by your plan.
3. Subscriptions and Billing
Pro licenses are sold as annual subscriptions. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled. You will be charged the renewal price at the time of renewal using the payment method on file.
You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain access until your subscription expires.
If a renewal payment fails, your subscription enters a grace period. If payment is not resolved, the subscription and associated licenses will expire.
4. Free Trials
Some products offer a free trial period. During the trial, you have full access to the product. At the end of the trial, your subscription will convert to a paid plan unless cancelled. No-card trials do not require payment information upfront.
5. Pricing and Taxes
All prices are displayed exclusive of tax. Applicable taxes (VAT) are calculated and shown during checkout based on your billing country.
- EU countries: Local VAT rate applies unless you provide a valid EU VAT number, in which case the reverse charge mechanism applies (0% VAT).
- Non-EU countries: No VAT is charged.
VAT numbers are validated in real-time against the EU VIES database. An invalid or unverifiable VAT number will result in standard VAT being applied.
6. Payment
Payments are processed securely through Stripe. We accept major credit and debit cards. Your payment details are handled entirely by Stripe and are never stored on our servers.
For subscription renewals, we use Stripe’s off-session payment capability to charge the card on file automatically.
7. Invoices and Credit Notes
A PDF invoice is generated automatically for every purchase and is available for download from your account dashboard and from the confirmation email. If a refund is issued, a corresponding credit note referencing the original invoice is generated.
8. Refund Policy and Right of Withdrawal
We offer goodwill refunds on a case-by-case basis. If you are unsatisfied with your purchase, please contact us at support@beltoft.net within 14 days of purchase. We will evaluate your request and, if approved, issue a full refund.
Refunds are processed back to the original payment method. Upon refund, your subscription is cancelled and associated licenses are revoked.
Statutory right of withdrawal (consumers). If you purchase as a consumer resident in the EU, you have a statutory right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days without giving any reason. To exercise this right, notify us at support@beltoft.net with a clear statement (for example, an email stating that you wish to withdraw) before the 14-day period ends.
Waiver for digital content and activated services. Our licenses, plugin downloads, email mailboxes, and virtual machines are delivered or activated immediately on purchase. By agreeing at checkout to immediate delivery or activation of the service before the end of the 14-day withdrawal period, you expressly consent to this and acknowledge that your right of withdrawal is lost once delivery or activation has begun. This is permitted under Article 16(m) of EU Directive 2011/83 for digital content supplied on a non-tangible medium with your prior express consent.
Where a valid right of withdrawal still applies, we will refund all payments received using the original payment method without undue delay and in any event within 14 days of receiving your withdrawal notice.
9. Delivery
All products are digital and delivered electronically. After purchase, you can download your plugin files from your account dashboard. License keys and download links are also included in the purchase confirmation email.
Updates are delivered automatically through the WordPress update system when a valid license key is activated.
10. Acceptable Use (General)
These general rules apply to all services sold through beltoft.net, including plugins, licenses, email hosting, and virtual machines. Product-specific rules are set out in the sections that follow and apply in addition to these general rules.
You may not use our services to: (a) violate applicable law or the rights of others; (b) transmit malware, conduct phishing, or engage in fraud or deception; (c) attempt to gain unauthorised access to any system, account, or network; (d) resell, sublicense, or white-label our services without our written agreement; (e) circumvent usage limits through multiple accounts, shared credentials, or technical workarounds; (f) use automated means to scrape, overload, or probe our website, APIs, or infrastructure beyond ordinary use; (g) impersonate any person or organisation, including beltoft.net.
We may update these rules where necessary to comply with law, to protect the security of our services, or to respond to abuse. Where changes materially affect you, we will give you reasonable advance notice.
11. Email Hosting — Acceptable Use
The following terms apply specifically to Beltoft Email hosting subscriptions purchased through beltoft.net and are in addition to the general rules in section 10.
11.1 Intended Use
Beltoft Email is provided for personal and business correspondence between individuals. It is not a bulk email service, a marketing platform, a transactional email service, or a mailing list provider. You may not use the service to send newsletters, promotional campaigns, cold outreach, drip sequences, application-generated emails, or any form of mass or automated mailing.
11.2 Rate Limiting
Outbound email is subject to rate limits to maintain deliverability and protect our sending reputation. Accounts that consistently exceed normal correspondence volumes may be throttled or suspended. Current limits are published in the dashboard and may change from time to time with reasonable notice.
11.3 Prohibited Sending
You may not send: (a) unsolicited bulk or commercial email (spam); (b) phishing, fraud, or deceptive content; (c) malware, ransomware, or other malicious payloads; (d) content that is illegal, infringes third-party rights, or violates applicable sanctions regimes; (e) email to addresses obtained from purchased, rented, or scraped lists; (f) repeated duplicate messages to the same recipient; (g) programmatically generated email to addresses outside your own account, including transactional mail from websites, applications, or virtual machines.
11.4 Identity and Authentication
You must send from your own verified domains or from addresses we assign to you. You may not forge headers, falsify sender information, use misleading From or Reply-To addresses, impersonate another person or organisation, or operate the service as an open relay for third parties. SPF, DKIM, and DMARC are enforced; mail that fails authentication may be rejected.
11.5 Storage and Mailboxes
Each plan includes a specified number of mailboxes and storage per mailbox. Storage is measured as the total size of all messages and attachments in a mailbox. Exceeding your storage quota may prevent new messages from being delivered until space is freed.
11.6 Account Sharing
Each mailbox is intended for use by a single individual. You may not sell, rent, or share mailbox credentials with third parties, operate mailboxes on behalf of end customers as a reseller, or use a single mailbox to distribute mail to multiple unrelated users.
11.7 Data and Privacy
Emails are encrypted at rest on our servers. We do not scan, index, profile, or read the contents of your messages except as strictly necessary to operate the service, such as spam and malware filtering on inbound mail. We do not sell or share your data with third parties. All data is stored in EU data centres and governed by GDPR.
11.8 Termination and Data Retention
Upon cancellation, your mailboxes remain active until the end of the current billing period. After expiration, mailboxes are suspended (no new mail received) for 30 days, after which they are permanently deleted. We recommend exporting your data via IMAP before cancellation takes effect.
12. Virtual Machines — Acceptable Use
The following terms apply specifically to Virtual Machine (VM) subscriptions purchased through beltoft.net and are in addition to the general rules in section 10.
12.1 Data Retention on Expiry
When a VM subscription expires, the VM is stopped immediately. All VM data (including disk contents, configurations, snapshots, and files) is permanently and irreversibly deleted 3 days after the VM is stopped. This cannot be undone.
12.2 Backups
No backups are provided. You are solely responsible for backing up your VM data. beltoft.net is not liable for any data loss except as required by mandatory consumer protection law.
12.3 Availability and Provisioning
VM availability is subject to host capacity. We may limit new VM provisioning when capacity is reached and may schedule maintenance windows with reasonable advance notice.
12.4 Network
Outbound SMTP traffic (port 25) is blocked by default on all VMs to prevent abuse. We may also rate-limit or block other traffic patterns associated with abuse, such as bulk scanning, brute-force login attempts, or unusual spikes in outbound traffic.
12.5 Resource Use
VM resources (CPU, memory, disk I/O, network bandwidth) are allocated according to your plan. Sustained use of shared resources beyond the typical profile of your plan, or use that materially degrades service for other customers, may result in throttling or a request to upgrade.
12.6 Prohibited Activities
You may not use a VM for any of the following: (a) cryptocurrency mining, minting, farming, plotting, or proof-of-stake validation; (b) operating Tor exit nodes, open proxies, open recursive DNS resolvers, open mail relays, or anonymisation services made available to third parties; (c) reselling VPN, proxy, or tunnel services to end customers; (d) port scanning, vulnerability scanning, brute-force attacks, credential stuffing, or penetration testing of any third-party network or service without written authorisation from that party; (e) hosting or distributing malware, ransomware, phishing kits, stolen data, or command-and-control infrastructure for botnets; (f) hosting or distributing child sexual abuse material (CSAM), which will be reported to the relevant authorities; (g) hosting content that infringes copyright or other intellectual property rights; (h) use in or for the benefit of individuals or entities subject to applicable EU, UN, UK, or US sanctions; (i) launching or participating in denial-of-service attacks of any kind.
Violations of (e), (f), or (i) will result in immediate termination without refund and may be reported to law enforcement and affected parties.
12.7 Resale and End Customers
You may use your VM to host services you operate yourself. You may not resell VM capacity, subdivide the VM into resold slices for end customers, or operate the VM as a shared hosting product without our prior written agreement.
12.8 Data Export and Portability
In line with the EU Data Act, you may request, before your VM is stopped at the end of a subscription, a disk image export or reasonable assistance to transfer your data to another provider. You are responsible for downloading or receiving the exported data within the notice period. Additional fees may apply for bandwidth-intensive exports. For email hosting, data export via IMAP is described in section 11.8.
13. Suspension, Investigation, and Termination
We may suspend or limit access to any service without prior notice where we reasonably believe that: (a) your use poses an immediate risk to the security, integrity, or availability of our infrastructure or other customers; (b) you are engaged in illegal activity; (c) a payment has failed or been reversed; or (d) continued access would put us in breach of applicable law.
For less urgent suspected breaches of these terms, we will contact you first, describe the issue, and give you a reasonable opportunity to resolve it before suspending the service.
Where a suspension is due to your breach and is not resolved within a reasonable period, we may terminate the affected service. Where we terminate a service for reasons not caused by your breach, we will refund a pro-rata portion of any pre-paid fees covering the period after termination.
Suspension or termination does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer under mandatory law in your country of residence.
14. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
If you believe a charge is incorrect, please contact us at support@beltoft.net before initiating a chargeback with your bank. We will investigate and, where the charge is indeed incorrect, issue a refund.
A chargeback filed before we have had a reasonable opportunity to resolve the dispute may result in immediate suspension of associated licenses, subscriptions, and services pending the outcome. If a chargeback is ultimately found to be unjustified, we may treat the disputed amount as an outstanding debt and recover it through normal means.
This clause does not restrict your statutory chargeback or refund rights under mandatory consumer law.
15. Reporting Abuse and Copyright Notices
To report abuse, security incidents, or content hosted through our services that you believe is illegal or infringing, contact us at support@beltoft.net. Please include the URL or IP address, a description of the issue, and (for intellectual-property claims) evidence of your rights.
In accordance with the EU Digital Services Act, we will act on valid notices without undue delay. We may also notify the customer concerned and give them an opportunity to respond, unless doing so would prejudice an ongoing investigation or violate law.
16. Intellectual Property
The software is licensed, not sold. Plugin source code is licensed under the GNU General Public License v2 (GPLv2) or later, as indicated in each plugin. You may not redistribute, resell, or sublicense the Pro version of the software, license keys, or any proprietary assets, including commercial names, trademarks, and non-code assets such as plugin icons.
17. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, beltoft.net shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use our products, including lost profits, lost data, or business interruption. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the specific product or subscription giving rise to the claim in the 12 months preceding the event.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under mandatory law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or mandatory consumer rights.
18. Indemnification (Business Customers)
If you use our services in the course of a business, you agree to indemnify and hold beltoft.net harmless from any third-party claim arising from: (a) your use of the services in breach of these terms or applicable law; (b) content you host, send, or distribute through the services; or (c) any infringement of third-party rights caused by your use of the services. This clause does not apply to consumers.
19. General Provisions
Force majeure. Neither party is liable for delay or failure to perform caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, war, strikes, outages at upstream providers, or acts of public authority. The affected party will notify the other and resume performance as soon as practical.
Assignment. You may not assign these terms or any rights under them without our prior written consent. We may assign these terms to a successor in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of substantially all of our assets, provided your rights are not materially reduced.
Severability. If any provision of these terms is held to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force, and the unenforceable provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to be enforceable while reflecting the original intent.
Entire agreement. These terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any service-specific terms, constitute the entire agreement between you and beltoft.net regarding the services.
Governing law and jurisdiction. These terms are governed by the laws of Denmark, excluding its conflict-of-laws rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Disputes will be resolved by the courts of Aarhus, Denmark. If you are a consumer, you retain the benefit of any mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of that country.
20. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to active subscribers with reasonable advance notice. If you do not agree to the changes, you may cancel your subscription before the changes take effect. Continued use of our services after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
