Every app below uses these same settings.
Server Settings

Apple Mail
macOSRecommended

Open System Settings → Internet Accounts.

Click Add Account → Other Mail Account.

Enter your name, email address, and password. Click Sign In.

Apple Mail will fail to auto-configure — that’s normal. You’ll be asked for server details.

Enter the server settings from above.

Select IMAP as the account type. Click Sign In.

Your inbox will appear in Apple Mail within a few seconds.
Microsoft Outlook
Windows · macOS

Open Outlook. Go to File → Add Account (Windows) or Outlook → Preferences → Accounts (Mac).

Enter your email address and click Connect.

Choose IMAP if asked for account type.

Enter your password.

If prompted for server settings, enter the server settings from above.

Click Connect. Outlook will verify the connection.

Click Done. Your mail will start syncing.
Mozilla Thunderbird
Windows · macOS · Linux

Open Thunderbird. Go to Account Settings → Account Actions → Add Mail Account.

Enter your name, email, and password.

Click Configure manually — auto-detect won’t find the settings.

Enter the server settings from above.

Set authentication to Normal password for both incoming and outgoing.

Click Re-test to verify, then Done.
iPhone & iPad

Open Settings → Mail → Accounts → Add Account.

Tap Other → Add Mail Account.

Enter your name, email, password, and a description. Tap Next.

Select IMAP at the top.

Enter the server settings under both Incoming and Outgoing.

Tap Next. iOS will verify — this may take a moment.

Choose which services to sync and tap Save.

Open the Mail app — your inbox is ready.
Android
Gmail · FairEmail
We recommend FairEmail (free, open-source) or the built-in Gmail app.
Using Gmail

Open Gmail → tap your profile → Add another account.

Select Other.

Enter your email address, tap Next, and select Personal (IMAP).

Enter your password and tap Next.

Enter the server settings. Tap Next to finish.
Using FairEmail

Install FairEmail from the Play Store.

Open it and tap Set up.

Enter your name, email, and password.

If auto-detect fails, tap Edit and enter the server settings manually.

Tap Check to verify, then Save.
Common questions
Should I use IMAP or POP3?
Always use IMAP. It keeps your email synced across all devices. POP3 downloads messages to one device and removes them from the server.
What ports do I need?
Incoming (IMAP): port 993 with SSL/TLS.
Outgoing (SMTP): port 465 with SSL/TLS.
Outgoing (SMTP): port 465 with SSL/TLS.
My app says the certificate is not trusted
Make sure you’re using mail.beltoft.net as the server name, not your own domain. The SSL certificate is issued for mail.beltoft.net.
Can I use multiple devices?
Yes. With IMAP everything stays in sync — read on your phone, see it marked read on your desktop.
Where is the webmail?
Access your email from any browser at mail.beltoft.net.
